Job Overview
Eskom is seeking a highly experienced Environmental Management Specialist (Air Quality) to provide strategic direction and leadership in environmental management practices, specifically focused on air quality compliance and Minimum Emission Standards (MES).
This role forms part of the Environmental Management Department within the Office of the Group Executive (GE).
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on interpretation and implementation of environmental management strategies related to air quality and climate change
- Lead and manage multi-disciplinary technical teams for air quality compliance
- Interpret environmental legislation (AEL, NAEIS, MES, carbon emission reporting)
- Recommend best environmental management practices and legal responses
- Develop and monitor environmental KPIs
- Engage with regulators, stakeholders, and authorities
- Coach and mentor environmental professionals
- Provide technical oversight on:
- Atmospheric dispersion modelling
- Emission inventory projects

Minimum Requirements
Qualification:
- Honours Degree in Environmental Management (NQF 8 – 480 credits)
Experience:
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in environmental management
Professional Registration:
- Registered with the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP)
